Home sweet home

I bet there are 35 8th graders who are so happy to be sleeping in their own beds right now.  We made it home safe and sound!

It was an amazing trip and would not have been possible without the students who attended and the chaperones.  Each year I never think it could get any better.  Last night's plane and bus ride was a demonstration of the type of students we had traveling this year.  We received more compliment about their behavior and maturity.

Thank you to the students for making this trip the best Disney trip we have had in my opinion!  It is good to be home with family, but I am sure everyone will miss their Disney family we spent so much time with this week.

Here are some more photos from the week that I did not get a chance to post.

Not sure who he was, but the girls were so excited to see a famous person who was so cute!

Daniel dreaming of his future car!

Ms. Bacon had enough of her group by the middle of the week!  (Just joking!)

Nia, Genaro and I designed this car at Test Track.

Tomorrowland Dessert Party

The most peaceful ride at Magic Kingdom!

Having fun in line waiting for Pirates of the Caribbean

Mrs. Canz's group got a ride up Main Street.

I want to go back already!  Thank you everyone for a great week!

T-shirts for Tuesday

Mrs. Coles Cross has approved for everyone to wear their MASH Meets Mickey green t-shirts to school on Tuesday.  Please make sure you are in uniform pants, shorts, or skirts.

Is anyone else missing Disney?  It was such a great trip!

New Arrival Time

We received an extra treat by getting to circle over New Jersey for a bit.  This extra treat though delayed our arrival.

We will be arriving at school around 10:45.

Our ride home

Our plane has arrived and they are cleaning it now.  We are still anticipating arrival to school at 9:45.

On our carriage to the airport

We took our carriage to the airport.  Looks like we are delayed 20 minutes but as of right now it should not change our arrival to school.  Let's still plan for 9:45, but I will post an update when we take off.

So sad....

When you are leaving the park for the last time it is so sad.  We are off to the hotel for lunch and to get our bus to the airport.

Magical experiences

Today is our last day here in Disney.  We are all heading out to the Magic Kingdom for a few hours.

There where a few magical moments that were not mentioned in previous posts.

A few of our travelers had the opportunity to do a "soft" ride of the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

One of our students had the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Living Sea and feed the fish.

A few groups had the chance to ride the monorail last night.  Even though it took a little bit longer they still wanted to play Connect Four in the hotel lobby!

Of course I cannot forget to mention the Illuminations Dessert Party.  It was a perfect last night festivity!

Hall of Presidents

Where else can you see all the Presidents in one place?  Hall of Presidents that is where.

Driver's education.....

Who knew the kids would get driver's education on the trip?

Magic Kingdom

On our way to see Cinderella!

Magic Kingdom Day

Today we will visit the Magic Kingdom.  We get the chance to see some of Walt Disney's first inventions and attractions.  I wanted to share some observations that have been made by our chaperones, students, and Disney personnel about the trip so far:

Chaperones:

- Technology is amazing.  With the new Fastpass+ system our students have been able to see more attractions than ever before.

-  We have the most polite group of students.  Their interactions with their peers, the chaperones, Disney personnel and other Disney guests has been very impressive.   (Parents you have done a great job!)

-  We usually see tired, crabby students by the end of each day.  This year we have upbeat and happy students when we return to our hotel.  It makes the trip so much easier!

Students:

- Mrs. Pires taught them so well about science, in particular gravity and force.

-  They are learning a lot about money management and budgeting their food spending.

-   Disney is so much more than rides.  The attractions have been also educational and they have seen a multiple number of careers that they could do in their future that they would never have dreamed of.

-  Mrs. Ferry is not the best Toy Story player.  Nick Alfonso beat her high score, although she did have an injury to her wrist from the military so that could be why he beat her.

Disney Personnel:

- The waiter at our dinner stated that she has never served such a respectful and polite group of students ever in her entire time working at Disney.

- The YES program facilitators commented on how easy it was to teach our students because they were very knowledgeable about the topic and volunteered frequently.  In addition, when asked to type of responses to prompts they responded in full sentences with proper grammar and structure.  (Kudos to their reading and writing teachers!)
